The Greater Detroit Jazz Society presents local jazz vocalist, Olivia Van Goor accompanied by the Eat It Up Trio. Olivia Van Goor is known for being a versatile singer, showcasing her musicianship with her voice and being one with the band. Over the years, she has always searched for songs that connect vocalists with instrumentalists, and thanks to lyricists like Jon Hendricks and the enthusiasm of the Detroit jazz scene, she has learned a whole book of traditionally instrumental tunes. These include tunes associated with Thelonious Monk, Cannonball Adderley, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Ahmad Jamal, Neal Hefti, Ray Brown, Charlie Parker, and many others.
